mud and puddles

Well I just finished having a very nice weekend even though it rained Saturday and Sunday.  By Friay night I had already decided that we wouldn't be doing to much on Saturday.  So I stayed in bed till 8:30 while I listened to the boys fight over who sits where while watching cartoons and what chanel to watch.  I finally got out of bed and made them all breakast then promptly put them to work.  Anthany and Atley sorted the huge box of cans, bottles and juice boxes so it would be quick and painless when we got to the recycling depot.  After they had sorted and baged them all we took them outside to put in the van and decided to clean and vacuume the van first.  So one boy got all the clothes and toys and stuff out while the other vacuumed.  I even took the rubber mats out and gave each of my 3 boys and my nephew a scrob brush and some water and they scrubbed those mats till they were almost good as new.  It's really to bad this excitement for sorting and cleaning doesn't last till and beyond the teenage years.  After we were done cleaning the van and loading the recycling we went in for lunch and some quiet time so my boys didn't turn into monsters by supper.  After quiet time it rained and by the time we finally got to the recycling depot it was closed.  rather unfortunate cause it isn't open again till Tuesday.  The conversation was interesting though.  It is amazing how 2 kids from the same family can be so different.  One said, "you guys can help but I get all the money"  The other said," You can have my part of the money so you can buy your D.S.

The boys enjoyed supper last night, Atley picked what we had.  When I asked him what he wanted for supper this is how the conversation went.
Me- Atley what do you want for supper?
Atley-ban.
Me- what?
Atley- ban noodles
Me- what are ban noodles?
Atley- you know, the ones that are long and are itchy.
Me- oh, you mean itchyban noodles
Atley- Ya those ones, we haven't had those in a long time. Lets have them!

I think each of the boys ate a whole pack themselves and wanted more.  hose itchy noodles sure are good.

And today, well it was the last sunday school and the last Live Wires for the year and we had a party down there, bouncy house, balloons and all.  When I went upstairs to get Alex and Robbie from the nursury Alex was upset and didn't want to leave.  When I asked him why he said he wanted his dump truck and started crying.  I guess he had asked the ladies working in the nursury for it but they didn't understand what he wanted.  So we all looked for it while Alex kept telling he he was sad.  Then he would cry and say, "I crying mom."  He is so darn cute! I love that boy.  So after lunch and quiet time we made a quadra zillion cookies and then went for a walk.  The boys all picked up worms and splashed in puddles.  It started out as a nice clean(as clean as puddles can be) afternoon walk.  We ended up on the berm cause I thought there may be some puddles in the grass because of all the rain.  Anthany soon got board and wanted to back to the streets where there were actual puddles.  We kept walking and finally came apon some puddles and then some real mud.  Our nice little mostly clean walk ended there.  Then it became a mud bath.  They were covered in mud nearly from head to toe and were enjoying every second of it.  After they were covered in mud I kind of welcomed the rain that began to fall.  Atleast it would wash a bit of the mud off them.  We wandered back to the street an they found a puddle that I told them to clean up in.  They were right in there.  I had to stop 2 of them from dipping their heads in the pudle.  So when we finally got home I herded them all into the back yard and sprayed them off with the garden hose and made them strip down before they were allowd in the the.  Lol I had to bath them then let the water out and shower them off cause the water was so dirty it just looked like another mud puddle.  They had fun and I enjoyed watching them have fun so it was really goof time.

Earlier today I told the big boys that everytime they didn't listen to me I wasn't going to talk twice, I would just give them a job to do.  Sooo... after baths were done the 2 big boys pretty much tidied and vacuumed my house for me.  And by 7:30 everyone was ready fo bed.   I LOVE BED TIME!
All in all a good weekend.  Now Bring on Monday.

Just thought I would throw this in, a conversation between my 7 year old and my 4 year old.
Atley- God would fit in our home. Anthany- no he wouldn't Atley- yes he would, he is just like a mom. Anthany- No, God is bigger than a Grandpa. Atley- No Anthany- yes, you know God is so big he is holding us in his hands. He hold the whole world and the universe in his hands. Did you know that Atley.
